Copper-nickel sulfide ore minerals generally have complex nature,more associatedminerals and similar flotability,good flotability and easy to mudding of gangue minerals andother features.These can result difficult separation and bad index of copper and nickelbenefication and also severely restrict the efficient use of copper-nickel resources in ourcountry. This paper contrary to the bad separation index and the bad quality of copper andnickel concentrate of copper and nickel sulfide in tonghua city jilin province through the puremineral experiment and mechanism research for direction conduct the beneficiationexperimental research for the guidance to search the suitable benefication process of thecopper-nickel sulfide. The main contents are as follows:Through pure mineral experiment analyze the impact of chalcopyrite and pentlanditeflotation behavior from flotation collectors,inhibitors and multivalent metal cation. Theresults showed that: the collecting performance of four collector to pentlandite: butyl xanthate>dodecyl mercaptan> LP-01>Z-200. Portfolio inhibitors lime+Na2SO3and calciumchloride+Na2SO3have weak influence on flotability of chalcopyrite and have intensiveinhibition on pentlandite.And the portfolio inhibitors lime+Na2SO3has better inhibition thanthe portfolio inhibitors calcium chloride+Na2SO3.Double portfolio inhibitors has betterinhibition than single inhibitor.The interaction mechanism between mineral and flotation agents has been researchedthrough flotation solution chemistry, UV testing, infrared spectroscopy.The results showedthat:The main ingredient of lime to inhibit pentlandite is Ca(OH)+and Ca2+when the pHvalue greater than nine; The main ingredient of Na2SO3to inhibit pentlandite is HSO3-inacidic condition and it is SO32-the pH value greater than eleven. LP-01and Z-200have ahigher rate reagents absorption when active with chalcopyrite and have the top reagentsabsorption rate in weak basic condition.But LP-01and Z-200has a low absorption rate whenactive with pentlandite and almost does not occur absorption in basic condition. Butylxanthate has a higher absorption rate with chalcopyrite and pentlandite and the acidiccondition conducive it absorb to the surfaces of the two kinds of mineral.According the pure mineral experiment and mechanism research for direction conductthe beneficiation experimental research. The results showed that, The copper-nickel selectiveflotation flowsheet can immediately obtain copper concentrate and nickel concentrate with a higher grade,But the recovery of nickel is low;The copper-nickel bulk flotation flowsheetobtain the copper concentrate and nickel concentrate with a higher grade and recovery, andthe concentrate has a high quality and a weak mutual contains;The copper-nickel isoflotabityflotation flowsheet can obtain a copper concentrate and nickel concentrate with a high gradeand recovery but has a lower beneficiation indicator than bulk flotation flowsheet.Using bulkflotation flowsheet to separate the acture ore of copper and nickel sulfide in tonghua city jilinprovince laboratory closed experiment can obtain copper concentrate of copper grade31.53%,recovery70.70%and nickel grade0.82%,recovery1.26%with grade ratio(Cu:Ni)38.45:1;nickel concentrate of nickel grade6.18%,recovery79.31%and copper grade0.32%,recovery5.97%wity grade ratio(Cu:Ni)19.31:1.This copper beneficiation efficiency is69.68%and nickel beneficiation efficiency is67.64%, the benification indicators of copperand nickel are better.
