This research was carried out under the sponsorship of the National863project (No.2012AA062002). The crawler travelling device of the mobile crusher station wasresearched. Dynamic strain and stress contours and driving torques of the crawler runningdevice under four working conditions were achieved through rigid-flexible couplingdynamics analysis with the crawler frame flexible. Via the analysis of the contours,dangerous zone with high stress of the crawler frame was obtained.Standardized strengthanalysis method of driving wheel, thrust wheel, track shoe and guide wheel was proposed.The research status of crawler travelling device was stated and the important role ofmobile crusher stations on increasing extraction efficiency of mineral resources wasrecommended through reading relevant domestic and foreign literatures. Various kinds ofresearch methods were summarized and contrasted. The advantages and disadvantages ofthe methods were analyzed. Given that complexity of mobile crusher station in bearing load,rigid-flexible coupling dynamics analysis method was proposed to analyze the crawlertravelling device.Driving torque of crawler travelling device in running straight horizontally andclimbing working conditions was calculated as well as the load of balance beams and thrustwheels to support further analysis. Based on multi-body dynamics simulation softwareRecurDyn and finite element analysis software ANSYS, Rigid-flexible coupling dynamicsmodel of crawler travelling device of mobile crusher station with the crawler frame flexiblewas established. Four working conditions of running straight horizontally, climbing, turningfixedly and turning with one track braking were simulated. Dynamic strain and stresscontours of crawler frame and driving torques under the conditions were got. The resultswere analyzed and the reasons were explained.Strength analysis of the components which could directly affect normal operation ofthe machine because of their failure was conducted to verify whether the strengthconformed to the requirements. Each analysis procedure of finite element analysis of thekey components was summarized to serve as one standardized strength analysis method ofkey components of crawler travelling device of mobile crusher stations which could providesome reference for design and manufacture in future. The conclusion showed that rigid-flexible coupling dynamics analysis method andstandardized strength analysis method of key components of crawler travelling device couldobtain required results and provide researchers with some reference in crawler travellingdevice research.
