With the rapid progress of Geographic Information Technology, Distributed Computing Technology and the popularity of internet, WebGIS-which comes from the integration of the Internet and GIS, has now become one of the most important directions of the developments of GIS. WebGIS has been used widly in many industrys.Combined with the characters, managing requirement and publishing requirement of the popular science resources, it built the information publishing system of popular science resources based on WebGIS, which provided convenient way for the public visiting the basic information of popular science resources,realizing the distribution of popular science resources, querying the related information of popular science resources,and provided the advanced and efficient work way for the popularization of science workers to lead, institute the popularization of science programs, integrated the information of popular science resource, and undertake popular science education activities, it had a great significance advancing the cause of popularizing science and technology and public scientific and cultural qualities. The main contents include the followings:1. Analysis the current status of the release of information of popular science resources in-depth, summarize its existing shortage. Research the connotation, classification and structure of popular science resources system science by the numbers, and analyze its size and distribution, content and form, the conditions and characteristics of management and use. There into, mainly focused on the Population density, area density and the classification, subarea, grade and coding of popular science resources in Zhengzhou City, which provided the theoretical basis for the design of popular science resources publishing system database.2. Research the core technology of SharpMap platform in-depth, discuss the integrated application method of the GDAL/OGR conversion libraries and SharpMap, and achieve the extension of multifarious raster and vector video data format.3. Study the database access technology and integrated information management, designed and realized the spatial information data layer manager, attribute data query builder, and general database access engine.4. The DIV+CSS technology was used to realize dynamic page layout, the JavaScript technology was used to customize dynamic tab, and the XML technology was used to realize page navigation. Based on this, realized real-time creation after the dynamic read of system information, so that the system had a good transplant and scalability.5.Based on the above works, the popular science resource information in Zhengzhou city have been classified in grading, zoning and code, designed and constructed the corresponding spatial information, the attribute information, multimedia information database and system management database. the articles designed the database of the system, analysised the demand of the popular Science Resource Publishing System of ZhengZhou, contrived the structure and the function of the system, exploitated and applied "The popular Science Resource Publishing System of ZhengZhou based on WebGIS".
