The compact range is the important test equipment for the electromagnetic scattering researching, it is also used for the high performance radar antenna test, satellite test, plane reflective properties test and so on, so it is an important infrastructure. So do research on the millimeter-wave compact range technology is very useful and significant for the communications, national defense, aerospace and other areas.This paper firstly introduces the concept, application and the related design theory.On the basis, design a kind of single parabolic reflector millimeter-wave compact range of cutting systems combining with the related project design requirements of Xi'an HengDa Microwave Technology Development Company. Given the method of key parts of feed source and reflective surface, including the design, calculation and installation ways, solved many key technological problems, such as edge diffraction, feed source installation, reflective surface machining accuracy, cross polarization, darkroom matching, feed source focus deflection and so on. Then put forward the design system tests evaluation scheme, as the same time completed the system processing, installation and testing process.Finally, the millimeter-wave compact range was used to have a test on a type of millimeter-wave antenna, the test results and the far field directly test results are analyzed, the results show that the design of millimeter-wave compact range correspond the system requirements of the design indexes, make overall test performance to obtain the very good validation, and achieved good results.
