Finite element method is commonly used in dynamic analysis of structures. In this method, the magnitude of dynamic stresses and displacements and their change laws can be obtained by sovling dynamic equations, but the effects of structural inertia force induced by continuous masses on the internal forces of elements, i.e. the effects of local dynamic responses, are neglected. However, theories and practices prove that while density of the material is high, external damping is large or solid-liquid coupling vibration exists within structural system, local dynamic responses have great effects on the internal forces of elements. Under these conditions, errors will be caused if the local dynamic responses of structures are not considered.In this paper, aiming at the development conditions of the local dynamic responses, further discussions on local dynamic responses of plate elements are proceeded based on achievements at home or abroad. Firstly, the computational model for local dynamic response of plate element under random excitation is established. The theoretical equations for solving local dynamic responses of rectangular plate element, right-angle triangle plate element and rectangular consistent plate element are deduced by using single-edge integration method. Secondly, the corresponding computational program of local dynamic responses for plate structure is compiled based on theoretical equations. Finally, the local dynamic responses of cantilever plates under random excitation are analyzed, and some significative conclusions are acquired. The results show that, by considering local dynamic responses, the computational model can be simplified, meanwhile the computation precision can be greatly improved by considering local dynamic responses...
