For the case of the optimized design problem of high loess slope, this paper put forward a method to search the most dangerous sliding face. According to this dangerous sliding face, the high loess slope was analyzed by reliability method. At last, an optimized model for designing high loess slope was established, and the loess high slope of long-Huang high way verified this model.Firstly, the main deformation and destruction forms of high loess slope and its deformation and destruction mode are brought forward. The forms are: Collapse, Slumping, Slope wash, Slope peeling, Sliding mass deformation by collapsibility, and a very little seen form: Mudflow. The destruction modes are like these: slump and landslide model, collapse model and slope surface destruction model.Secondly, The reliability theory was introduced into high loess slope stability analysis. It was very long time the for loess forming, and it faced many changing, so, its behaviors are unstable. In order to get along well with the popular used stability methods, this paper look the failure face as parabolic line, to set a limiting equilibrium equation, as a base for reliability calculation. In order to reduce the degree of freedom, the slide angle was substituted by 'x', build a equation for search the most dangerous sliding face using the integration method, also a program was brought out to realize automating research by computer. When analyze the high loess slope's reliability, two more method was put forward: optimized method and Fiessler method. The two methods utilizes simplicity.In the end, Object function is established on a basis of minimum cost. The slope geometry is variable quantities, and the reliable safety and reliability are main limiting factors. According to the above factors, a optimized model for designing high loess slope is established. This model's concept is precise, and its physical meaning is confirm, people who do designing work can see this model as a means. As an example, The high loess slopes of Tong-Huang high way is used to prove that this model is valid. At the same time, the suggestion about designating high loess slope that lies in Tong-Huang high way is put forward.
