With the development of the power engineering and mining, the scale of high loess slope becomes bigger and bigger and more sophisticated. For the case of high loess slope at Shuiliandong coal industrial ground in Binxian county of Shaanxi province , this thesis researches the characters, influencing factors of the stability, current stability, treating method, stability and reliability of the slope after treating on the basis of site investigation and indoor test.At first, author generalizes the types and failure forms of the slope, analyzes the deforming mechanics and major factors affecting the stability of the high loess slope in detail.Then, at the found of investigation, the author qualitatively evaluates the stability of the current stability of high loess slope through engineering geological analogy. By using limit equilibrium method, the stability of the slope in different conditions including natural condition, storm rainfall, long-time raining and earthquake is calculated. With FEM, the stress-strain state, plastic area distribution and the most dangerous failure surface in the slope are simulated. Thus, the overall understanding of current stability of the slope is got.At last, on the basis of field investigation on high loess slope analysis on result of high loess slope research, it is concluded that the cutting method which integrates the wide steps and with small steps is the best manner to treat the slope. Meantime, the stability after treating is calculated through limit equilibrium method and strength reduction method. Aim at slope cutting method, the author divides slope-cutting into three steps, and simulates the process of slope-cutting by FEM. Through simulation, it is found that the stress-strain state, position of the plastic area, the most dangerous failure surface, stability coefficient, displacement vary with the change of slope shape in every step, and concluded that the controlling factor of stability is the slope shape in homogeneous high loess slope. To quantitatively evaluate the treat efficient, the reliability of the treated slope in the conditions of the different stability coefficient and discreteness of the parameters is calculated. It is proved that the method which is adopted on the slope at coal industrial ground is correct. On the base of previous analysis, author educes a conclusion that the method which is used to treat the high loess slope at coal industrial ground may be practical for other high loess slope whose height exceeds 100m.
