Macau Digital City Construction

This paper introduces the concept , technical issues and main applications of Digitial City (Cyber-City). The main seven technical issues discussed , including GIS techniques , Remote sensing techniques , GPS techniques, wide band Internet techniques, combined of multi metadata, Trend in integrating usage of software techniques and Mass Data Storage techniques . The paper compared the GIS in development and applied tendency of the domestic and international Citys . It can sure that Macau city has conditions and needs to develop Cyber-City , and suggest some opinions about the direction of development . The section 4 of article is mainly introduced in recent years Macau application for GIS . The Conclusion of article thinks : Cyber-City will be the major driving force for a city to benefit from the information society and it also is a project of system engineering , it covers almost all aspects of urban living . From the point of view of technology, most key techniques are mature for current applications . What is important is that the city government should as soon as possible to coordinate all concerned roles with . Carry out to prefect connection of local sub webs and set up the sharing and interoperation machanism for web resources and data.
