NEA(negative electron affinity) photocathode has achieved great achievement and been vast applied in the third and fourth generation image intensifiers during the past decades because of its super performance. The reasons that the research of NEA photo-electric cathode in our country lags greatly behind the other foreign countries which possess the advanced technologies mainly lie in the following facts: besides the lack of enough investment in this field and the draggle of relative technique on the NEA , the crucial problem is we neither own the effective measurement methods to analyze the data nor the monitor means to control the equipment. Just because of the reasons mentioned above , this dissertation deeply explores the techniques on activation of NEA photo-electric cathode and measurement of its attribute characters . Some important contents are summarized below:First, the dissertation briefly introduces the current development state of NEA photocathode and concrete description parameters.Second, the dissertation narrates the measurement conception of NEA photo-electric cathode's spectral response while emphasizes the exploration of the first native spectral response instrument; At the same time introduces the XPS surface analysis technique with its application. A quantitative analysis method based on variety of small angle is put forward.Last, the dissertation gives a brief introduction on the application of the spectral response measurement technique in the mechanism of activating NEA photocathode, also the equality and the stability of the 3th generation tube under the situation of exposure to light have been studied for the first time in China.
