Groundwater is not only a kind of valuable natural resource but also the basic element of environment. Now the three problems that face us are "population source environment" which have the bearing with the groundwater resources directly and indirectly. With the development of industry and agriculture and the improving of standard of living, the higher demand on evaluation and management of the ground-water has been put forward. S ince the 1970s, numerical simulation technology has been widely used in the problem of groundwater seepage, and has been a necessary tool to discover the movement rule of groundwater and to assess and manage the natural resources.On the basis of analyzing the numerical simulation methods of groundwater systematically and combining Jinan fissure-karst water system, the paper sets up the two-dimensional unsteady model by using the finite difference method and the finite volume method, assess dynamic changes of groundwater in the spring field. All conclusions we sum up in the paper provide efficient analysis method for the evaluation and management of groundwater resources of the Jinan spring field, and provide significant reference for the evaluation of scientific management of local groundwater resources. The central contents are as follows:Firstly, systemically summarize and analyze the domestic and foreign developing status of numerical simulation of groundwater, the principles and application of the main numerical methods, and introduce the finite volume method into the numerical simulation of groundwater firstly.Secondly, on the basis of investigating and analyzing the relevant data, we briefly summarize and expatiate the natural geography, geology, hydro-geological condition and of the spring field. Summarize the hydro-geological feature of research area and bring forward hydro-geological conceptual model of research area.Thirdly, set up the non-uniform two-dimensional unsteady flow model of research area in Jinan spring field, solve the model with finite difference method andfinite volume method.Fourthly, discretize the research area according to the hydro-geological condition, divide hydro-geological parameters into several subareas, such as seepage coefficient. Identify and calibrate model using actual observation data of the year 2002 and 2003. Having been identified and calibrated, the groundwater numerical model can be used in groundwater dynamic prediction of spring field directly.Finally, discuss the main influencing factors of fissure-karst groundwater dynamic changes of the spring field, and preliminarily give the evaluation of fissure-karst water resources of the spring field.
