For a long time there is some puzzle in mathematics: It is often regarded as the most basic, most important and most useful subject, thus it takes most time and there are most times of examinations. On the other hand, mathematics is easily neglected and misunderstood. Furthermore, some people think that now the calculators are used widely, the basic calculation can be omitted. As for such issue, we have to think over the question: Isn't a pity for us educators to work hard and teach the students while they think it useless ?The writer of this paper gives some opinions and suggestions about how to foster the students'sense of maths application from his teaching experience, and states the reasons.Ⅰ,The research background: The paper is initiated from an error. It is necessary to foster the sense of maths application, for there are some problems in the maths teaching.Ⅱ,The theoretical basis: First, the sense of maths application should be redefined.
