Being one of the most famous jade, Dushan jade has a long utilization history for about 7000 years. The price is rising in recent years for the limited resource especially the green jade. The cause of green color hasn't been researched until now. This article want to discuss the cause of green color of Dushan jade, and discuss the influence of craft value of Dushan jade.In the article add the green-pink jade into the series green jade and the made it as the emphases.The structure and texture of Dushan jade affect its character like transparence et. We study the white jade, the results show that the content, the alteration extent and the fissures of anorthite are the controlling factor of Dushan jade's transparence.This article will focus on the green series jade especially celeste jade, emerald jade, pink-green jade and green-white jade. X-ray, microscope optical observation, texture analysis are adopted to systematically study the controlling factor of Dushan jade's transparence. Synthesizing this test, we can obtain the conclusion. The conclusion is that celeste color relate to the mica which contain chromium, the emerald jade has the same cause, the cause of green color of the green- pink jade has some relativity to epidote, green part of the white-green jade is found that the mineral is diopside which contain mass of iron and chromium.The green color-causing mechanism can be explained by the crystal field theory. Iron ion and chromium ion with single electron can absorb the visible light and come into being color. Iron element and chromium element has the positive relation. It is because they has the same origin which come from chromite.Jade article can be parted into three group on the bas of using, sculpt designing, caving and polishing.
