The imaging log is a dramatic improvement in the field of log technology in the latest years, for it makes the log materials become vivid and measurement results tend to precise, provides pictures similar cores, reflects structural properties of formations. Based on the application of imaging log to the description of lithology, fractures, sedimentary, crustal stress direction of structure, by which it will be possible for the structural researches of complex reservoirs. Truly, the traditional log method is difficult to distinguish precisely and effectively the dip and distribution intensity of fractures.The oovoid strand gasfeild is one of significant exploration discoveries except the Carboniferous System for the Southwest oil- and gas-field branch company in latest years in Feixianguan formation of Kaijiang-Liangping Trench, Sichuan Basin, its geologic reserves approach to about 1500×10~8m~3, and it have already been treated as the main formation of exploration targets. The Southwest oil- and gasfield of CNPC has already taken the advanced log technologies to carry on a lot of log works, which has make the log evaluation tend to degree from qualitative to semi- quantitative and it improve the evaluation efficiency of porosity spaces of formations. Thus it will be a good base to subtly and deeply describe formations and precisely gain formation parameters with log materials in the later stage of reservoir description.In order to enable the imaging log perform better for oil and gas exploration in northeastern Sichuan province, and solve the problems of which occurred in imaging interpretation, this paper, concerning the sedimentary facies property of structures lies in two sides of Kaijiang-Liangping trench and carrying on analysis geologic mechanics to unveil the reason why physical property of oovoid strand formations within two sides of trench is different in Feixianguan formation, build the relationship between parameters of physical property of formations and imaging log, and concentrate on study of several technical problems such as calculating porosity, identifying fluid features and so on. Allowing for the imaging log associated with the materials of traditional log, geology, engineering, experimental analysis, to probe the more reasonable and suitable interpretation method so that the target to precisely describe reservoir, distinguish fluids property will be achieved. Moreover, applying the practical log information with maximum degree to enhance coincidence rate and then it will provide some basic materials for reservoir description and reserves calculation. Finally, the it will serve as one of important technical supports for oil and gas exploration in the area of northeastern Sichuan Basin, Feixianguan formation.This paper given a set of log evaluation serials that is suitable for formation the of oovoid strand within two sides of trench in Feixianguan formation, so it will provide one of possible means to apply the log information with maximum degree. Thus, a practical procedure of which based on the log materials (such as FMI, DSI, CMR), to improve the calculation precise of porosity, permeability, enhance the success rate of distinguishing fluid features, comprehensively evaluate and study the log materials, will be figured out.
