At present, the theory of magneto-optic has improved a lot. There are many applications based on the theory of magneto-optic effect:optoelectronics and photonics, computer information processing, scientific research, magnetic measurement and so on. optical pump magnetometer, which is used for measure geomagnetic field is based on magneto-optic effect. Our group have put forward a new method to improve efficiency of magnetic measurement make use of optical image, this new method has its own characteristic: imaging, three-dimension resolution, high efficiency, no blind spot.Magneto-optical image technology for geomagnetic field is a complex technical system. We have only create the principle successfully and begin some research. This thesis is belong to the system, so the direct purpose of it is to offer some reliable dates and exploration experiment. The main innovations in the thesis are listed here:1,We designed high-accuracy experiment device to measure minor rotation angle base on frequency multiplication method. The attainable precision is about 0.005°through computer simulation.2,The rotation angle of gas is so minor to measure, so the experiment has to in harsh terms so as to measure Verdet constant. There have few reports on characteristic of air rotation angle as variation of condition. Our task is to measure Verdet constant of solid, liquid and gas, also make a summary of variation law as variation of external condition, so a purpose is to get much more systematic and comprehensive dates.3,Analyse experimental error and influencing factors, also give theoretic interpretation of kinds of laws.4,Magneto-optical modulation method for optical polarization measurement based on rectangular wave signal was investigated by means of computer simulation, make a conclusion that this method has well applied value.
