Bohai Bay basin is one of the most tectonically active areas in eastern China since later Tertiary, Tanlu fracture belt in Liaodongwan exploratory area has experienced strongly tectonic movement since later Tertiary, which resulted in well-developed faults and complicated structure in the area. Structural interpretation and reservoir prediction have encountered great difficulties due to complicate structure and reservoir distribution.During the later 1990s, with the discovery of great oilfields such as QHD32-6 and PL19-3, Bohai Bay basin entered a new exploratory period through the knowledge of shallow-layer hydrocarbon reservoir conditions, which resulted in the discovery of composite oilfields of Neocene and basement bured hill in uplift, such as JZS and BZ28-1 oilfields. These hydrocarbon reservoirs are characterized by complicated geological characters and exploratory methods, which can be reflected in reservoir features and exploratory methods. For special hydrocarbon reservoir such as JZS, special exploratory technical series must be developed on the basis of the knowledge of geological features. New geophysical technologies and new methods should be applied, so that rich information and potential of seismic data could be fully utilized in order to finely study complicate structures and depict reservoir distribution based on the 3D seismic interpretation. Only in this way will the exploratory efficiency be increased and more hydrocarbon reserves be discovered. The main purposes of the paper is to conduct new geophysical technologies and methods study by fully making use of seismic data available aimed at hydrocarbon reservoir geological characters and complicate exploratory methods in Bohai Bay basin, so that structurally complicate reservoir can be predicted and distribution can be depicted.Fine analysis and study of poor-connected clastic rock reservoir of Eogene were conducted by application of reservoir inversion and frequency spectrum imaging analysis, and reservoir distribution character was finely described based on the geological study in the paper. Basement rock reservoir characters were summarized by applying of rock slice, core description statistics, conventional well logging and FMI logging information data. Multiple seismic reservoir prediction technologies were utilized to predict the reservoir features of buried hill, which resulted in the enhancement of reservoir predicting precision and avoiding the multi-interpretations of single technology. A suit of effective buried hill fractured reservoir predicting methods have been formed and predicting results has been proved by the drilled wells, which provided significant evidences for the assessment of oilfield and the design of development program.
