Yunnan is an important province in China for tobacco production. Furthermore, tobacco is also the mainstay of Yunnan province. Tobacco production mainly includes flue-cured tobacco and cigarette production. Production of flue-cured tobacco plays an important role in tobacco production. The quality of flue-cured tobacco not only affects the quality of cigarette but also determines the income of tobacco farmers.Tobacco flue-curing is a systematic engineering. Every step in the procedure relates closely with the quality of tobacco. Tobacco drying room is the main facility of flue-cured tobacco. In the process of tobacco flue-curing, it is important to control the temperature and humidity, because it will directly affect the quality of tobacco products. Temperature and humidity should be monitored in real-time, because it is significant in the entire process of tobacco flue-curing.Through the investigation of Yunnan countryside, we found that there have many self-built tobacco drying rooms. They have different specifications. The characteristics of tobacco drying rooms is simple structure and low cost. In the process of tobacco flue-curing, the temperature and humidity is read by artificial through the thermometer. Because of artificial reading and the accuracy of the thermometer itself, as well as the heavy labor intensity, those factors lead the process of tobacco flue-curing instability. The tobacco drying room is dispersed in the village. In view of the above situation, wireless data acquisition system will be used in the tobacco flue-curing. The connect technology of wireless communication and sensor is presented, which ensures wireless data acquisition used in the tobacco drying room. One monitoring center will be built in each village. The data acquisition terminal equipment will be placed in every tobacco drying room. The temperature and humidity will be transferred to the monitoring center through wireless digital technology. And it will be acquired regularly. The monitoring center can monitor the temperature and humidity transferred form the tobacco drying room in real time. When the temperature exceeds the setting temperature, the site and monitoring center will give the alarm at the same time. And then tobacco farmers can be easy to operate.The system includes wireless data acquisition node and the monitoring center. The node includes temperature and humidity sensor, data processing control unit and wireless digital module. The monitoring center includes wireless digital module and PC. The data processing control unit controls the temperature and humidity sensor to achieve the data collection. And then the data is sent to the monitoring center through wireless digital module. Wireless digital module in the monitoring center receives data and sends it to PC. Interface of PC management system is worked out by VB6.0. The management system will store data in the database. And users can analyze and process the data when need. The management system also can create charts.To determine the stability of the system and the accuracy of the data transmission, the simulation experiment is conducted." The whole drying process of similar material with tobacco is monitored in real time. It is proved that the wireless transmission system has characteristics of high accuracy and run stably. Secondly, the experiment also has been conducted in the laboratory drying oven. The accuracy of the thermometer and sensor is compared. And the experimental data is analyzed. It is proved that that the linear of sensor is better than thermometer. Its accuracy is high. It can provide more accurate measurement for tobacco farmers.The results of experiment prove the wireless data acquisition works well. And data rate is fast. Performance of system is stable. The requirements of real-time data acquisition and real-time monitoring can be achieved. This system has strong practicability and great application prospect, so it can effectively observe the temperature and humidity inside the tobacco drying room. It also can be used to improve the level of tobacco curing, relieve labor intensity and improve labor efficiency.
