Rolling processing is making use of cold plastic characteristics for metal at room temperature. By using rolling tool to exert pressure on the workpiece surface, surface metal of workpiece produce plastic flow, to fill in the original residue low-lying valleys, then the surface roughness of workpiece reduced. Owing to plastic deformation after rolling of surface metal, surface structure produce cold working hardening and grain refinement, to formate dense fibriform and layer of residual stress, so that the hardness and strength increase and improve the combining resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the workpiece. It has some advantage, such as high production efficiency, stable product quality, low processing costs and lower the worker labor etc. After rolling, the machined workpiece can correct the roundness, improve combining quality and reduce abrasion, so that effectively extend the life of workpiece.This paper analyze the rolling process and principle of the hydraulic cylinder bore, and detailedly describing the change of the physical and mechanical properties on the machined surface and the rational choice of rolling process parameters, then the calculation of rolling force are discussed.This paper use DEFORM-3D finite element analysis software to establish a finite element model of hydraulic cylinder bore which is rolled, getting the effective information of rolling force-stroke curve, and the stress field, strain field, velocity field within the workpiece and deformation process in the rolling. It provides an effective way to study bore rolling technique.This paper use experimental method to study the main rolling technique parameters on the influence of surface hardness and surface roughness, providing a basis for determining the actual process parameters and laying the foundation for the design of rolling tool. It has important reference value and practical significance to guide the actual production.
