As a new heat transfer technology, the closed circulating cooling water system could be applied in industries such as chemical industry, metallurgy, coal chemical, and electric power, and the system is an important approach for energy saving and discharge reduction in sustainable development. In North area of our country, water is meta-alkalescence, which contains much of suspended solids, salts, and microorganisms, the poor water quality cause severe problems of scale formation on wall of heat transfer pipes, and then the heat transfer request could not be met. This problem gains more and more attention and becomes an urgent problem which need to be solved.This paper took the circulating water as the main research object and actualized profound research on water treatment of the closed circulating cooling water system in DAning Power Plant of Shanxi Lanhua Group, the contents and results were obtained as follows:(1) This paper firstly expatiated the present status of application of circulating water, pointed out the problems in the existent circulating water system, and advanced possible solutions.(2) Differences between new and old circulating water treatment systems were contrasted. Applications of technologies were explored ,such as ozone and porous ceramics in circulating water treatment. Methods of single factor and orthogonal test are adopted for the judgment, whose results indicated that flux of ozone and pole diameter of porous ceramics influenced the effect of sterilization and scale inhibition, and the combined effect of several technologies were alsoexplored.(3) Contemporary, In this paper, mechanism of application of ozone and porous ceramics in circulating water treatment was also discussed, and feasibility of the technique was proved in theory.The results of this research indicated that content of solids could be reduced effectively, wastewater quantity could be reduced, and the reuse ratio of circulating water could be improved by the technology which was named filtration of circulating water implemented by ozone-porous ceramics technique. According to the results of this research. when this technology was applied, the best effect of sterilization and scale inhibition could be achieved with ozone concentration of 100mg/min, pole diameter of porous ceramics of 5mm, and velocity of flow of 4000ml/min. Compared with traditional technology, rigidity could be reduced by two third.The results of this research indicated that obvious economic benefits ,social benefits, and certain value for popularization and application of this new technology were achieved .
