Medium Frequency Induction Furnace Smelting Cast Iron Quality Control And Research

As the medium frequency induction furnace is widely used in Foundry, the problem of quality control caused by melting iron with medium frequency induction furnace is attentioned generally by the cast factory. The difference between QC caused by melting iron with medium frequency induction furnace and QC caused by melting iron with previous cupola is noticeable. There will be some problems which can't be solved in practice. To these problems, with investigating some cast factories which possess the medium frequency induction furnace and combining the experiences coming from the practice using the medium frequency induction furnace in the foundry department of Nan Jing mint corporation, the author more deeply researches and investigates the problem of QC caused by melting iron with medium frequency induction furnace.In this text, from the standpoint of productivity applications and technique, the author does a series of examinations including the quality of raw material, accuracy control of melted iron's component, recarburizer and recarburization technology, resulfurization technology, the temperature control of stockhold, selection and examination of melted iron's component, the technology of melted iron's inoculation. Based on a great deal of experiments in practice, datas, summarizing the experiences of the predecessor, the author represents his viewpoints and advises and solves successfully a series of problems such as crack of large-sized grey cast iron, slag inclusion of grey cast iron, achieves accuracy control of proportion of raw material and accuracy analysis of melted iron's component before pouring. The study summarizes several experiences of QC caused by melting iron with medium frequency induction furnace, and discoveries a new way to guarantee quality of metallurgy of the casting which is used on the machine made for printing and minting, the effective management of the cast factory and QC. It creates considerable economic benefits and social benefits. Similar cast factory may take it as a reference in practice and technique.
