Mining area rock mass of Nanchuan bauxite is broken, its integrity and rock mass strength is not high, joints and fissures are developed, and there are many karst caves, these caused the surrounding rock with soft rock properties, stability of rock mass is not high, supporting is difficult. Applying appropriate Rock Mass Quality Classification method to scientifically and reasonably evaluate the stability of roadway surrounding rock, the 3D visualize of Rock Mass Quality Classification, For guiding supporting of roadway surrounding rock and secondary supporting is very important meaning.This paper compared the Rock Mass Quality Classification methods, careful analysis mining area rock mass engineering geology and hydrogeology conditions of Nanchuan bauxite, selecting South Africa RMR classification method from the three common kinds of Rock Mass Quality Classification methods (South Africa RMR classification method, q-system classification method and national code) as Rock Mass Quality Classification which suited mining area rock mass of Nanchuan bauxite, making a detailed set of rock engineering parameters sampling plan, surveying indexes which effect rock quality Classification such as rock mass uniaxial compressive strength (UCS),rock quality designation (RQD),joint spacing(JS),joint conditions (JC) and groundwater(JW) strictly, using surveying results, obtained preliminary results of rock mass quality classification to mining area rock mass of Nanchuan bauxite. and the quality of rock classification results are improved according to the actual situation. Using domestic mining special software-DIMINE to establish geological database of rock mass quality classification,and samples combined, establishing block mode of mining area, using rock mass files of mining area as a constraint model to constraint the block model, and estimating the samples, finally,3D visualizing the result of Rock Mass Quality Classification. Using the result of Rock Mass Quality Classification, combined with ground stress of roadway surrounding rock of mining area,roadway span and support condition, using difference Verhulst model and gray effect measure theory to draw up plan for roadway secondary support of mining area.Through the geological conditions of the hydrological detailed investigation, according to actual condition, flexible using scientific and reasonable Rock Mass Quality Classification method to classific mining area rock mass of Nanchuan bauxite. And further developing and utilizing the Rock Mass Quality Classification results,3d visualizing the result, facilitate results to dynamic planning and management. According to rock mass quality score, combined with other factors and use related theory to scientific guide secondary support work, providing services for practical production, and has important theoretical and practical significance.
