With its superior mechanical properties,corrugated web H-beam is more and morewidely used and rapidly developed. This new kind of H-Beam, with corrugated web, isapplied to various fields of engineering construction. Especially in the bridgeconstruction and steel structure building, the application of corrugated web H-beam ismore prominent.On the basis of corrugated web H-beam, a new kind of special steel structure, thecorrugated waist rail is proposed. The corrugated waist rail has been rolled successfullyin the Rolling Laboratory of Yanshan University. A series of mechanical testing resultsshow that corrugated rail waist rail has more superior mechanics performance thanordinary rail. The rolling deformation and the microstructure characteristics of thecorrugated rail waist rail are mainly researched, and the cause of the corrugated rail waistrail’s superior mechanical properties will be found out.The rolling parameters of corrugated rail waist rail are researched and analyzed,through the Pro/ENGINEER three-dimensional finite element software to establish thethree-dimensional finite element model of corrugated rail waist rail, and by using three-dimensional finite element software DEFORM3D,the hot rolling process of corrugatedrail waist rail was simulated. The influence of rolling speed, reduction and rollingtemperature on recrystallization and grain finer of corrugated rail waist rail are analyzed.Metallographic structure of corrugated waist rail is observed by microscope, andcompare them with that of normal rail. Through metallographic tissue comparison, thedifferent organization between two kinds of rail are observed and the reason is analyzedthat the mechanical properties of the corrugated waist rail are superior.
