In recent years efficient recovery and use of micro-fine hematite has become thefocus of research. By mixing flotation of magnetite and hematite to examine the impactof pharmaceutical systems and magnetite hematite flotation. This paper summarized and analyzed the domestic and foreign literature, and on thebasis of it carried out the following research work that mainly including pure mineralflotation tests to study the mechanism of reagents and minerals, and actual mineralflotation tests to investigate the structure of test process and the reagent system, with thezeta potential test and infrared spectrum analysis fully demonstrated the mechanism ofminerals and reagents to provide technical support for the actual production of oredressing plant.Pure mineral flotation tests results showed that when the pulp pH>10, the dosage ofNaOH effect larger on quartz ore flotation than that on magnetite or hematite flotation. When the amount of starch reached10mg/L hematite flotation was inhibited completely, starch inhibition of hematite was stronger than that of magnetite and quartz inhibition.CaO activation of quartz ore was greater than that of magnetite or hematite. Under thesame flotation conditions, flotation concentrate grade of hematite-quartz artificial mixedminerals was slightly higher than that of magnetite-quartz artificially mixed ore.Influence of magnetite on flotation concentrate grade is obvious, namely high magnetitecontent, the higher flotation concentrate grade. The actual mineral test results show that FeO has a certain impact on the hematiteflotation, when the content of FeO is8.85%, after one rough, one fine and onescavenging, the final concentrate grade is65.51%, tailings grade is12.35%, sortingindex is ideal. The zeta potential test results showed that calcium made the quartz surface potentialincreased substantially, and PZC rose from2.1to3.7, which indicated that calcium had astrong adsorption on the quartz surface. Starch made the hematite surface potentialdeclined largely, which indicated that starch had a strong adsorption on the hematitesurface. The infrared spectrum analysis results showed that adsorption of starch andmagnetite was mainly chemical adsorption, producing a new characteristic peak in themagnetite surface, which had certain inhibition effect on the magnetite. Intermolecularinteraction made starch adsorbed on the surface of hematite, between starch and hematitein addition to this effect, but also the existence of hydrogen bonding, which made thehematite surface hydrophilic, so as to achieve the purpose of its inhibition.
