At present, the demand for metallurgical equipment is growing with the vigorous development of smelting iron and steel industry in the international and domestic market. And metallurgical crane as an important part of metallurgical equipment are also expanding the market. Because of the special requirements of steel production process, the metallurgical equipment must have standards of continuous working ability.Because of its special structure, the planetary gear reducer have unique advantages in solution of solving metallurgical crane work continuously and reduce the failure rate of production. But also because of the special mechanical structure, the metallurgy crane which use planetary gear reducer does not have good security performance. The security performance requirements of metallurgical crane is very high due to it is load for liquid metal. So if there is a fault control system which can accurately control fault of the metallurgical crane transmission system, we can use planetary reducer in metallurgical crane transmission system very well.This article through the analysis and design of the mechanical principle and application of control system metallurgical crane that use planetary reducer, algorithm application and use the Matlab Simulink toolbox to modeling this fault control system and simulation verify its effectiveness and Put forward improvement program for the problems existing in this fault control system.The simulation modeling analysis proved that the existing fault control system can satisfy the demand of insures the safe running of the metallurgical crane, can accurately diagnose all kinds of fault state and effectively prevent the occurrence of accidents. It has high value of application.
