An Empirical Study On The Relationship Between Carbon Emissions And Economic Growth In Shanxi Provice

The climate crisis and economic crisis is pushing the global economy experienced a big change.Under the new situation,the economic growth mode at the price of “high energy consumption,high pollution and high emissions” is facing a transformation pressure from inside and outside.The rapid development of economy lead to excess demand for energy, at the same time increase the carbon emissions, the living environment suffered severe damage. Therefore, the implementation of energy conservation and emissions reduction, rational utilization of energy, control of carbon emissions is more important. Not only develop the economy but also protect the environment. On the premise of limited resources, it is difficult for us to do in the short term, but in the long run, is not contradictory relationship between environment and economy. The development of economy can provide support on funding and technology for environmental protection, and thus improve the environment. a good environment, in turn, can promote the development of economy, to achieve "win-win" the final state.Based on this, the paper analyses the relationship between economic growth and carbon emissions of Shanxi Province, attempt to provide decision-making basis for energy conservation and emission reduction policies in Shanxi Province.This article selects the time series data of economic growth and carbon emissions years 1985-2012 in Shanxi province and focuses on analysising of carbon emissions from the aspects of economic growth.the paper introduces the research background and the significance of the relationship between economic growth and carbon emissions, reviews the research status quo of the subject through the literature at home and abroad, and expounds the relation between economic growth and carbon emissions research of relevant theoretical basis;this paper respectively the energy consumption and economic growth in Shanxi province and the status quo of carbon emissions were introduced;Moreover,it analyzes the relationship between the carbon emissions and economic growth by using the cointegration test and granger causality test and the conclusions show that the economic growth and carbon emissions of Shanxi province is long-term equilibrium relationship,but only unidirectional causal relations. the economic growth to the carbon emissions of one-way granger causality, the agricultural and industrial is the granger causality of carbon emissions. Developing the economy should control carbon emissions at the same time. but can be by adjusting the economic structure to reduce carbon emissions; And carbon emissions are not decided effect on economic growth,we cannot change the economic growth by adjusting the carbon emissions.Finally,according to the research conclusion, under steady economic growth,we put forward carbon paths and ways in Shanxi province, at the same time put forward policy suggestions on carbon reduction emissions in Shanxi Province and research deficiencies.
