Mica granitic pegmatite is widely distributed in western Sichuan,the main minerals of the mica granitic pegmatite are fine-flaked muscovite, feldspar,quartz etc. This kind of non-metallic minerals is still not got comprehensive development and utilization at present. If the muscovite,feldspar,and quartz can be effectively sorted out from the mica granitic pegmatite, they will be non-metallic mineral resources for Sichuan area. Therefore, this article has made a systematic study on the technology about how to sort out muscovite,feldspar,and quartz from the mica granitic pegmatite and surface modification of quartz powder.In this article, large-size muscovite is sieved out partially by vibration screening and selective grinding, and the fine muscovite is separated by floating from the undersieves. Then, feldspar and quartz are sieved from the tailings of the muscovite by the technology of regrinding, flotation and iron removal. The results show that: the productivity of muscovite is 18.37% and the grade was98.74% on the condition that rod milling time was 1.5min, pulp density was 50%and sieve mesh is 0.38mm; the concentrate productivity of fine grained mica was39.78% and the grade was 86.06% on the condition that pulp density was 35%,p H=3.5 and the dosage of mixed collector was 150g/t; the Fe2O3 content of the tailings is decreased from 0.94% to 0.20% when the content of-0.074 mm fineness was 60% at the regrinding of the tailings; when floating the tailings by the closed circuit process of one roughing, two scavenging and one concentrating,the productivity of feldspar concentrate is 50.16% with K2 O content is 8.47% and Na2 O content is 4.84%, the productivity of quartz concentrate is 42.02% with Si O2 content was 98.24 % and Fe2O3 content was 0.19%. Both feldspar product and quartz product can reach the first grade requirement according to national standard.The quartz powder is modified by using KH550 silane coupling agent and the modified results are demonstrated by FTIR spectra and XPS energy spectrum.As the results show, the optimum condition for quartz modification are 8 hours,120℃ and the 1.6% dosage of KH550.Action mechanism of the combined collector on feldspar and quartz shows that the Zeta potential of feldspar and quartz will be effected evidently when the ratio of the collector and the p H value of the pulp are changed. The FTIR results indicate that the action of mixed collector on quartz surface is only physical adsorption, but there are not only physical adsorption but also chemical adsorption of hydrogen bonds between feldspar surface and mixed collector surface. As the Pyrene fluorescence probe test shows, on the condition that p H value is 2.0, the I3/I1 ratio of pyrene on feldspar surface is higher than the ratio on quartz surface, and the micro polarity of feldspar is stronger than the micro polarity of quartz, the hydrophobicity of feldspar is stronger than the hydrophobicity of quartz. The above studies will offer theory basis for the flotation of feldspar and quartz on the same condition.
