Empirical Analysis On The Impact Of The Development Of Trade And Economics On Environmental Pollution In The Region Around Bohai

There are indivisible interacting between the environment and our society, the environment provides a physical basis for us so that we can survive in the world and gain more treasure for our society. However with the development of human society, there are a lot of problems like resource depletion and environmental pollution raised to our living environment. And the destroyed environment is becoming a serious restriction to the development of our society. The study of environmental issues which is full of practical significance is becoming more and more urgent, since the construction of ecological civilization was proposed on the the eighteenth national congress of the CPC.The region around Bohai is one of the seven economic regions in China, and the development of its economic and environmental protection is of strategic significance to our country. In this paper I made an empirically study about the influence of the development of trade and economics on the environmental pollution based on the panel data from 1994 to 2013 of the seven provinces in the region around Bohai.After an in-depth review of the theory of both environmental economics and international trade, I choose the Environmental Kuznets Curve Model(EKC), Commutable General Equilibrium Model(CGE) and expansion of CGE Model to make an empirical analysis of the effluence and mechanism of trade and economic growth upon environmental pollution in the region around Bohai. At the end of the paper, I gave out some advises about how to gain a harmonious development of economic growth and environment depend on the results of regression.Considering the availability of the data and the characteristics of the pollution in the region, I choose the emission of pollutants(industrial waste water, industrial SO2, industrial solid waste and industrial smoke) as indexes of environmental quality. The results of inspection of EKC Model told us that in the region of Bohai the emissions of industrial solid waste goes as an inverted “N” curve with the growth economic growth and the emission of industrial smoke goes a “U” curve.According to the analysis of expansion CEG Model, we can find out that the scale of the GDP and the structure effect will deteriorate the environment and the policy effect and technology effect will reduce the emissions. The effect of economic openness for the environment is uncertain, and the possible reason is that the structure of trade and FDI is not analyzed in the model.At the end of the thesis, I made a brief summary and conclusion to the study I have made, and pointed out the shortage of my paper, and then put forward several points on the future study of this issue.
