With the development of modern science, metal materials are widely used in aviation, navigation, and other fields. Due to the sensitivity of the metal material to the environment, it is easy to form corrosion damage and lead to accidents. The failure of the metal structure is a complex process, and usually from microscopic to macroscopic, the degeneration of metal structure is influenced by some factors between each other, such as metallurgy composition, casting technology, service environment, and so on. In order to better understand the degeneration mechanism, in this paper.the simulation results of metal material under corrosion environment using the cellular automata were used, through computer image processing technology, the numerical characteristics formation of metal materials corrosion were extracted from simulating result, combined with Mises yield criterion and Cross section damage failure criterion,the static strength of metal materials with corrosion damage have been solution using finite element method,and get the stress distribution around corrosion damage and maximum bearing capacity of structure.The main work of this paper:(1) Using cellular automata method, the corrosion damage of structure in different situation is simulating, and extracted the numerical characteristics formation from corrosion damage images.(2) Using CAD technology, the corrosion damage images have been translated into the model, which can been used to solve the static strength using finite element method.(3) Combined with Mises yield criterion and Cross section damage failure criterion, the static strength of metal materials with corrosion damage have been solution using finite element method, and get the stress distribution around the corrosion damage and maximum bearing capacity of structure.
