The production of the municipal solid waste (MSW) in China is growing rapidly with the development of the city. Based on the statistical data in recent years, the MSW production is growing at a speed of1.5million tons every year, and the production of the MSW is expected to reach323million tons in2020in China. Large quantities of MSW leads serious polltution to land, air and water, seriously infect our living environment. Considering MSW disposal and utilization status in China, there are3main processing technology for MSW now, landfill, composting and incineration, but there are also some limitations and shortcomings in these three kinds of treatment techniques. So the expectation for a better MSW processing technology that focused on MSW "resources, reduction, harmless" in China is urgent. In recent years, co-processing of solid waste by the cement kiln obtains considerable development, and reveals much advantage and chracteristics. Co-processing of MSW by cement kiln becomes a practicable and feasible technology. In this paper, the main work is as follows:1. By close comparison and analytic study, the MSW production is growing at a rate of3-5%every year in Beijing, and the MSW disposal structure is unreasonable now. The classification mechanism is not perfect in Beijing, and the existing MSW disposal facilities in Beijing are overloaded seriously.2. Combined with the yield, composition and the origin of MSW, this paper uses AHP method to systematically compare4kinds of MSW treatment technology, including landfill, composting, incineration and co-processing by cement kiln. Economic factor, environmental factor, social factor and technical factor are selected as the the criterion layer,20factors such as project investment, operation cost, the dioxin problem, disposal of fly ash, leachate treatment et al are selected as the secondary criterion layer, the plan layer composes of four kinds of processing technologies:incineration, composting, landfill and co-processing by cement kiln. AHP method results reveals that, the co-processing of MSW by cement kiln is the best technical solution. 3. Aiming for the MSW disposal project in Huairou District of Beijing City, based on the co-processing technology of MSW by the cement kiln selected and optimized by AHP method, We design a co-processing technology of MSW to make full use of the advantagement of Beijing Xingfa cement plant and submit FSR(feasibility study report) to the relevant government departments for facilitating the analysis and decision.Combination of the above analysis, this study takes the MSW comprehensive disposal project in Beijing Huairou District as the case. Based on technical and economic analysis, this study further demonstrates the superiority and feasibility of the technology for co-processing of MSW by the cement kiln. The technology superiority and feasibility contains small investment, short construction period, effective reduction for environmental pollution, wide applicability for diverse MSW, facility to achieve the goals of "harmless, resources, zero release" during MSW treatment.Many large and medium-sized cities in our country have been besidged by waste, environmental protection has become a national concern. Aiming to solve the common problems existing in the process of MSW disposal, co-processing of MSW by the cement kiln is the most optimal, feasible and practical solution schem to MSW disposal process. We believe that our environment will become better and better.
