The Applied Research Of Bamboo Furniture Design In Chinese Northern Living Room

In today’s society, with the national advocate and support for sustainabledevelopment, the development of a green economy has become the hottest topicnowadays. However, with the human beings exploiting and abusing indefinitely,and timber resources have been extremely lacking. Bamboo resources are richand low prices in China. They are the most similar in the material characteristicswith the timber resources. Through continuous development for newmanufacturing processes of bamboo, complemented by sleek design, bamboowill become a very important and green material of emerging application infurniture design. This means that bamboo furniture has great market in northernof China. Since the differences of region, culture and other between north andsouth, will deeply affect people’s aesthetic. Therefore, the modeling study ofbamboo furniture based on northern living room of China, has a very importantsignificance on the future development of bamboo furniture.At present, there are a lot of works and books about bamboo furniture inthe domestic, but it is rare in specific to explore the bamboo furniture design inthe northern living room, this article will ultimately analyze the using prospects and innovative exploration of the bamboo furniture in the northern living room.It will provide a theoretical basis and reference for bamboo furniture design inthe use of the northern living room.The paper adopts the methods of literature review and comparative analysisto compare the use of bamboo furniture and wooden furniture in the living roomof the north, and adopts the method of case studies to combine with bamboofurniture modeling features and analyze the features of northern living room andfurniture design. And it adopts the method of investigation to research andanalyze date on the basis of this conclusion. The author will design a set ofbamboo furniture design fitted for north living room by correspondingconclusion.The main research contents of the paper include:(1) Through comparingbamboo furniture with wood furniture in the use of northern living room, bycomparing, it obtains that bamboo furniture is superior to wood furniture interms of mechanical strength and shape modeling.(2) Based on the superiorityof bamboo furniture, it analyzes the basic modeling elements of bamboofurniture and put forward to innovative design techniques of bamboo furniture,namely the original design and improved design.(3)It analyzes design factors,furniture design features and future development trend of northern living room,and obtains that the bamboo furniture has a good applicability in the northernliving room space.(4) It further conducts design research to the apartment, style,color and population factors of northern living space room, and analyzes the resulting data.(5) Based on the above study, it applies improved design from theinnovative design techniques of bamboo furniture, and conducts design practicefor the northern living room space, and completes a set of bamboofurniture,including a chair, couch, coffee table, TV cabinet and sofa.In summary, it proves the feasibility of bamboo furniture innovative designtechniques that is presented in this paper, and the applicability of bamboofurniture design in northern living room space by design practice. Finally, itproves that it has great significance that the applied research of bamboofurniture design in the northern living room.
