Infrared moisture meter is an important application branch of infrared spectral analysis. As water has a strong absorption for near-infrared light with certain wavelength and the degree of absorption is proportional to the moisture content in the substance, which is the working principle of infrared moisture meter. However, it is not enough to use moisture absorption spectrum algorithm singly. When infrared moisture meter is utilized in industrial field, it is largely affected by environmental factors, such as temperature, sludge content and soon.The project deeply analyzes the infrared moisture meter used in industrial field. Based on careful study of the working principle of infrared moisture meter, this article synthesizes a formula to calculate moisture with the eight optical paths data collected by infrared moisture meter. Due to the error between moisture content calculated by computational model and the value displayed by the instrument, which is caused inevitably, this article uses the BP algorithm as compensation.The infrared moisture meter has a certain measuring bias between day and night in the working field. Values measured by moisture meter during the day are higher than those at night when the water value of sinter mixtures keeps at a fixed value. To address this problem, a number of experiments are implemented and find the reason to generate differences is temperature. After a lot of analysis and synthesis, the temperature compensation formula is figured out. As adding a certain type of sintering sludge affects the measurement results, this paper makes a correction scheme in accordance with proportion of sintered material mixed with mud on the basis of experiment.Since infrared moisture meter calibration is measured under the condition that the tested material is in a stationary state. When the infrared moisture meter measures the value of material on a moving conveyor belt, certain deviation exists between the measured value and the calibration value. This paper calculates correction scheme through a large number of experiments.KPCA algorithm is used to recognize sintering sludge content. When the sinter mixture mixes with sludge, there is a certain relationship characteristic between the eight beams data collected by the infrared moisture meter. The proportion of mixed sludge in sinter mixture is identified though researching and analyzing features and the algorithm. After testing, KPCA algorithm recognition works well.
