With mine mining mechanization continues to improve, coal dust and damage problems have become increasingly prominent. Dust is not only harmful for the health of mine workers, causing pneumoconiosis, but also may cause dust explosion, leading to a major mine disasters. In the process of coal production, especially in the machine excavation face and mechanized mining face, the highest concentration of dust threaten to the occupational safety and health and safety production. Therefore, the dust must be controlled within the allowable range.Wet dust collector is widely used in mine. The study on the wet metal mesh filter is still in its infancy in our country. In order to compensate forihis deficiency, the paper develops the wet metal mesh filter, testing the performance and looking for the optimal working conditions of wet metal mesh filter.This paper introduces the nozzle atomization mechanism and classical particle trapping mechanism, studying the water film mechanism and droplets mechanism and analyzing the factors affecting the performance. On this basis,20 layers and 40 layers of wet metal mesh filter have been produced aiming at studying air volume, wind velocity, water quantity and the layers of metal mesh affecting the dust removal efficiency and resistance. Optimal parameters of wet metal mesh filten.is obtained.Researches show that the resistance of wet metal mesh filter is influenced mainly by the wind velocity, less the amount of water; dust removal efficiency increases with the increase of water, but not linearly, when it increases a certain amount, the rate of increase slows down; as the wind speed increases, the dust removal efficiency increases and then decreases. Wind velocity and the amount of water is the main factor, optimizing the two factors. An ideal wind velocity for 2m/s and optimum water amount of 14L/min make wet metal mesh filter high efficiency and low running resistance. Due to saving water and energy,the wet metal mesh filter can be introduced to mining, coal, metallurgy and other industries.
