After 30 years’ development, abrasive water jet cutting technology has been increasingly mature, becomes a mainstream priority to the development of cutting technology in 21 st century. The cutting mechanism of abrasive water jet becomes a research topic of all experts and scholars.First of all, the cutting mechanism of abrasive water jet and model are theoretically analyzed, and then the stress process and accelerate mechanism of abrasive particles are described in details, at last, the process and the reasons of cutting surface residual lines are analyzed.Under the guidance of cutting theory, using the laboratory abrasive suspension jet(ASJ) cutting equipment, experimental variables are jet pressure, cutting speed, standoff distance and abrasive particle size, orthogonal experiment is designed to cut the 1060 aluminum alloy, and the relationships and rules between the abrasive water jet cutting performance(surface roughness) and the parameters are analyzed. At the same time, on the basis of researching and summarizing the characteristics of abrasive water jet cutting process, this thesis uses fuzzy inference system to establish ANFIS fuzzy model structure about abrasive suspension jet cutting; Using the “T-S” fuzzy system, this thesis respectively establishes upper roughness prediction model, bottom roughness prediction model and the cutting speed prediction model; Models are verified using the sample data obtained in the experiment, basing on the training of MATLAB programming realization of adaptive fuzzy inference model. By verifying the output of fuzzy model compared with the experimental value, it can be seen that the output of the fuzzy model structure based on ANFIS can be better fit and characterized the rule and the trends of the experimental data.
