In the production process of electrolytic nickel, E0Ni/Ni2+-0.25 V, E0Pb/ Pb2+-0.126 V, due to the higher equilibrium potential of lead, it’s more easily to precipitate in the cathode than nickel. Therefore, in the process of nickel electrolysis, the content of lead in cathodic liquid is strictly controlled. According to the theory of polarization curves of lead and actual production, in the mixed acid system of nickel sulfate and nickel chloride solution, the content of Pb2+ usually controlled below 0.0003g/l. With the decreasing of nickel resources, the stable nickel sulfide ore resources can’t meet the domestic nickel consumption demand. Lots of enterprises purchase a large number of foreign materials, the high percentage of lead in outside materials brings certain shock to the original production process.Ion exchange method is an important development direction on deep removal of lead from the metallurgical process. The paper through the small tests and bench-scale researches on ion exchange method for removal of lead in nickel electrolyte, determined technology condition and parameter of the new resin, as saturated capacity, desorption and regeneration, etc.. Also, it verified the feasibility of the industrial application and finished the research on ion exchange method for removal of lead in mixed acid system.Through small static test, the result shows that the selected commodity resins by this study, in mixed acid system of electrolyte, PH value and solution temperature are the main factors affecting the adsorption performance. When the PH at 4 the adsorption effect is best; As the rise of the solution temperature, it has advantage to the resin adsorption of lead.In dynamic adsorption experiments, we get researches on the solution of velocitySIB resin adsorption performance, the influence of resin elution and desorption conditions. Experimental results show that under the condition of 40℃, with 2 bv/h solution velocity continuous adsorption, adopts the water leaching, 4% HCL desorption, it can guarantee the stability of the SIB resin is good and the depth of the removal of lead in nickel electrolyte.In pilot test of the double column series, we take researches on the SIB resin adsorption and elution and desorption performance. Pilot test shows that the double column series get more effectively play resin adsorption, in its wear funnelled, lead content below 0.0003 g/L required capacity can reach 40 times column volumes, exchange capacity is 0.68 g/L.The expansion of the field test, the experiment was carried out for the single column adsorption industrialized continuous test. Under different flow velocity, examines the lead liquid containing lead after 0.0003 g/L or less number of bed volume, resin adsorption capacity, desorption capacity of the resin and desorption rate.
