At present, the main dewatering method is the mechanical dehydration. It has advantages of large treatment capacity, short period, small area, convenient operation and control, good working environment and so on. However, the moisture content is not enough low via the mechanical dewatering only. Therefore, it is necessary to pretreat sludge before mechanical dewatering so that the deep dewatering would be perfect.In this study, a number of technologies are used. An innovative technology for sludge dewatering is founded which includes the skeleton builder(sawdust or coal dust) pretreating, the flocculant(CPAM) pretreating,the surfactant(CTAB) pretreating and the microwave pretreating. After the pretreating, the sludge would be placed in pneumatic filtration device and then be dewatered.The study aims to explore the role of the skeleton builder for the deep dewatering.The study includes the experiments with single factor, the experiments with double factors and the orthogonal experiments which the factors include the skeleton builder, CPAM, CTAB and the microwave. The results show that the treatment of the skeleton builder combined with other factor is better for the sludge dewatering compared to the the skeleton builder treating only. What’s more, the order of the four factors about the effet on the sludge dewatering is the sawdust treatment, the microwave treatment, CPAM treatment, CTAB treatment. Therefore, the skeleton builder plays an important role on the deep dewatering.
