Taking advantage of the high elastic media(for example: the polyurethane rubber) to bend the steel plate with the two-roller bending machine is a kind of advanced plate forming processes which highly improves the accuracy of the parts and the quality of the surface. When produce and design a two-roller machine, it is necessary to choose and define the parameter – the forming force properly to make the structure optimal.This article inquire the experiment through the Finite Element Analysis Software-ABAQUS. As the metal plate is usually sheet metal, the thickness of the plate can be ignored comparing to the forming roll diameter. It do not affect the judgment of the forming force. Therefore the two—roller experiment with plate can be replaced with the two—roller experiment without plate(referred to as two—roller experiment). In order to process the data easily, the forming force curve is transformed into unit area forming force curve. The variation is also researched between different curves. Then the variation of the roller—plate experiment unit area forming force curve is researched. The next step is to find the same character between the two-roller experiment and the roller-plate experiment, and quantify the character with numbers. By this way, the two—roller experiment with certain geometry size can be transformed into the roller-plate experiment with certain geometry size, which can simplify the experiment further. After that the forces of roller—plate experiments with different geometry sizes are studied, and the intrinsic links are found. Such, we can make one or some roller-plate experiments as a basement, and obtain the forces of roller—plate experiment with different sizes. And then turn the results into the actual forces of the two-roller machine.At last, the actual experiment results are compared with the finite element simulation results to test the accuracy. Through this way, it can estimate if the finite element simulation is reliable and feasible.
