The influence of the torsional vibration of rolling mill main drive system caused by strip tension, caused the velocity of roller fluctuations, thereby affected the surface quality of strip, also increased the times of changing roll, reduced productivity, increased cost of repair. Therefore, this paper will mainly studies the relationship between strip part and the torsional vibration of main drive system of rolling mill.In this paper, The main drive system of rolling mill is simplified as a double degree of freedom system. Ttorsional vibration equation was established according to D’Alembert’s principle about the rolling mill main drive system, and get the dynamics equation of torsional vibration on the roll end through the equation transform. Analysis of the influence of strip tension on the rolling speed by using MATLAB simulation software in the early establishment of rolling state.The main drive system of a rolling mill entity model were established in F2 and F3 rack by using ANSYS software, and done the model analysis. Then connected the F2 and the F3 rolling mill main drive system by useing strip, and became a double rack system containing the strip. Then done the modal analysis of the whole system, in order to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes. Then observated and analysised the different of the rolling mill main drive system’s torsional vibration frequency and vibration mode when conneted strip or not.Through the harmonic response analysis module of ANSYS could realize the simulation of strip tension, the strip tension which calculated above was converted into the surface stress as the excitation force, in the dual rack system, applyed sinusoidal excitation force on the strip’s section which’s frequency from low to high changed, then done the harmonic response analysis with the whole the dual rack system. To the end of the analysis, selected the corresponding points on the F2 and F3 rolling main drive systems of the dual rack system of different shaft section, and draw the curve of circumferential displacement with frequency change.Through the analysis of these curves, reseach the influence to the rolling mill main drive system when conneted strip. At the same time, comparised with the curves and the results of modal analysis of the F2 and F3 rack and the dual rack system’s rolling main drive system, further reseach the relation between the strip and the inherent properties of torsional vibration of rolling mill.
