In this paper, Si Cp with low volume fraction reinforced Al matrix composite was fabricated by stirring casting, and we investigated the hot deformation behaviors. We use optical microscope(OM) and scan electron microscope(SEM) to investigate the microstructure evolution and whisker distribution of as-cast and as-extruded Si Cp/Al composite; Mechanical properties of as-cast and extruded composites were tested by the Gleeble-3500 hot simulator and universal testing machine. Thermal deformation textures of the composite were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction(by ?-scan).The hot compression of Si Cp/Al composite was studied at various temperatures and different strain rates. The results have shown that the flow stress is sensitive to the strain rate and the temperature,the flow stress of the decreased with the increase of deformation temperature and increased with the increase of strain rate.According to the relationship between stress and strain, we make processing map technique for thermal processing of materials provides a basis.Mechanical properties of as-rollded composite were tested,showed that rolling can alter the structure of composite and enhance the mechanical property. After hot rolling, the mechanical properties of the composite has been improved,The hot-rolled temperature has a great influence on edge cracking composites; With the improvement of hot-rolled word processing times, the tensile strength of the composite has been greatly improved.Thermal deformation textures of the composite were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction(by ?-scan). The <111>, <200> and <220> textures were found in the composite.
