SiCp/Al composites as key structural components are broadly applied to enormous fields of aviation,military,automobile and alike,and hence often subjected to further plastic working of hot rolling for getting more excellent mechanical properties.Due to the existence of many polyhedral SiC particles,the particle clusters and porosity in the composites,hot deformation behaviors and rolling behaviors of SiCp/Al composites are difficult to be obtained by experiment,moreover,the characteristic of the edge ftracture also greatly restricts the development and application of rolling procedures.Firstly,the hot compression deformation behavior of SiCp/Al composites were investigated by means of hot compression test,multiple linear regression and parameter validation of constitutive equation.The effect of strain hardening,softening temperature and strain rate on the flow stress at different stages were analyzed through the flow stress-strain curves of SiCp/Al composites with verifying that the Arrhenius model is suitable for predicting the rheological behaviour and the coupling flow stress.Secondly,the definition and assignment of different mechanical and thermal boundry conditions and the control of stability limit in the explicit coupled analysis were analyzed in detail,therfore,the finite element model of coupled thermo-mechnical analysis were reasonbly established with Gurson damage model.Through the ABAQUS software,the SiCp/2009 Al composite rolling process,edge fracture process,temperature field,deformation field and stress field of SiCp/2009 Al composites were carried out to obtain the rolling forming mechanism,the edge fracture mechanism,the law of temperature change and the influence of strain,strain rate and temperature on the surface and center flow stress of SiCp/2009 Al rolling plate.Besides,the effect of five parameters of initial rolling temperature,rolling speed,reduction,initial thickness and friction coefiicient on temperature distribution,deformation field distribution and contact stress field distribution and the rolling force were simulated,which resulted the influence law of different technological parameters for hot rolling of SiCp/2009 Al composites.Finally,the experiment validation for rolling force and edge fracture was carried out and showed that the experiment results were greatly consistent with the simulation results as well as verified the ratinality of the finite element model.At the same time,reduction should be not more than 20% for the single-pass hot rolling of the SiCp/2009 Al composites.
