Real 3D spatial modeling for mine and using its platform for professional roaming inquiry analysis have become core content of digital mine research and one of the key technologies of modern digital mine construction. Based on the analysis of current domestic and abroad research situation, to solve problems include that 3D model data format is complex, modeling and roaming query are lack of interactivity etc., this paper expands researches which include mainly:(1) A new unified 3D model data format is designed and can be achieved by transformation from exported models of AutoCAD, SketchUp and other programs, it can unify format of mine model including building, tunnel and geological body. Each model consists of model elements, geometric attributes and physical attributes, and the speed of reading model file can be improved effectively through separate management of physical and geometric attributes and multithread loading.(2) Research on improved 3D modeling method for mine. Firstly, the design of roadway cross and curve is optimized base on researches of our task team making tunnel modeling more convenient. Secondly, rapid and meticulous modeling for building and tunnel can be achieved according to interface of transformation from third-party program to custom file. Thirdly, a new "TIN-based fault-containing coal body interactive modeling" method is proposed, improving mdeling interactivity of fault and coal seam.(3) Effective methods to establish and optimize 3D scene are researched and proposed, deletion according to the vision, selection of detail level and categorization of models are used to improve the efficiency of real-time graphics drawing and to achieve efficient management of 3D scene. Based on that, roaming route is designed and optimized through combination, fitting of route and collision detection, agile 3D interactive technology is developed to achieve that roaming is controlled manually and automatically, and inquiry and analysis of 3D scene.The practice and application show that the 3D model data format, improved 3D modeling method and roaming module design method proposed above improve the efficiency and accuracy of mining engineering 3D modeling and ease of operation greatly, can meet the needs of digital mine construction and the information-based development of mine.
