This paper consists of two sections. Section one, the application of redox offerricyanide/ferrocyanide in chemiluminescence (CL) analysis in recen ten years is reviewed, then the catalytic effect of ferricyanide/ferrocyanide on luminol-reductant system is studedand CL methods are established for the determination of reductant, the possible mechanism ofthe CL reaction is also discussed. Section two, the photochemiluminescence in past ten yearsis reviewed, including principle, experimenta technique, application, and thephotochemiluminescence method is studed in detal for the determination of ascorbic acidand catecholamines.SECTION ONE Investigation on the Chemiluminescence Reaction ofLuminol- [K3Fe(CN)6-K4Fe(CN)6] - Reductant SystemCHAPTER ONE Application of Redox of Fetrricyanide-Ferrocyanide inChemiluminescence Analsis. The redox of fetrricyanide/ferrocyanide (φ=0.77lv) is a reversible redox and not only iswidely used in electrochemical analysis, but also applied in CL analysis extensively Theapplication of the redox in CL analysis for ten years has been reviewed, covering themechanism and application of ferricyande-luminol CL system, and the application offerricyanide-organic compounds CL system. The application of ferricyanide-luminol systemis mainly reviewed in the following aspects: application of CL based on enzymatic reaction, application of inorganic coupling CL based on fetricyhade reaction, application of CL basedon inhibiting reaction and other application. The 69 references are presented.CHAPTER TWO Investigation on the Chemiluminescence Reaction ofLuminol- Ferricyanide - Ferrocyanide - Reductant SystemThe CL reaction of reductans with luminol in the presence of potassium fetrricyanide andpotassium ferrocyande in alkaline solution is investigated in detail. It is found that reductantsincluding vitamin B,, caPtopril, nJtin, pyrogallol, phlorglucinol, qunol, resorcinol andisoniazid, can react with luminol to produce strong CL in alkaline solution in the Presence ofpotassiurn fetricyanide and potassium ferrocyanide. Based on these founds, a new CL methodhas been developed for determination of these reducants. The linear ranges are 0.4 -0pg/mL,0.l40Hg/mL, 0.l2pg/mL, 0.l6pg/InL, 0.l50Pg/InL, 0.llpg/mL, 0.06lUg/mL,0.021.0pg/mL for vitamin B,, caPtopril, wtin, pyrogallol, phlorglucinol, quinol, resorcinol, isoniazid, respectively. The detection limits are 0.4pg/mL vitamin B,, 0.lpg/mL caPtopril,0.03pg/mL rutin, 0.03pg/mL pyrogallol, 0.03pg/rnL phlorglucinol, 0.04pg/mL quinol, and0.02ng/mL resorcinol, 0.007pg/mL isoniazid.Based on the experimental facts and references, the followtng reaction mechanism issuggested: in alkaline soluton, the reported reductams have 1ow redox potClltial and can reactwith disso1ved oxygen to produce a low yield of suPeroxide radical. The produced suPeroxideradical oxidized luminol to give a very weak CL in alkaline solution. The presence ofpotassium ferricyanide and potassium ferrocyanide not only catalyzes the CL reaction ofsuPeroxide radical Wth luminol in alkaline solution, but also accelerates the reaction ofreductats With dissolved oxygen in alkaline solution, leading to soperoxide radical producingcontnuously and giving strong CL.SECTION TWO StUdy of Photochemical Chemilumincscence AnalysisCHAPTER ONE Photochemical Chemiluminescence AnalysisPhotochemical chemiluminescence analysis (PCCL) is the couPling of photochemicalreaction wtth chemiluminescence reaction. The principle, experimenta technque andaPPlication of PCCL in last ten years is reviewed. The aPPlication of PCCL covers theanalytical aPPlication based on detecting H,O,, the analytical aPplication of PCCL based onFe(II)-luminol system and the analytical aPPlication of PCCL based on I,-luminol system.CHAPTER TWO Research ReportThe suPeroxide radical (O,-) is produced frOm vitamin B, in alkaline solution Under UV-irradiation condition. The produced suPeroxide radical (O...
