In the modern weaving industry, weaving industrial fabrics has already become an important domain, whereas, this kind of fabric has characteristics of its own and makes demands on breadth, the traditional shuttle loom and shuttleless loom cannot meet weave needs, hereby, we introduce the concept of the heavy wide loom, there are some typical products such as the Germanic JURGENS loom and the Sweden TEXO loom etc. Although the heavy wide loom belongs to the loom's category, its weft carrier and its wefting way are both different from the traditional shuttle loom and shuttleless loom, from the view of the weft insertion principle, it has some characteristics of the gripper shuttle loom in some degree, and in the whole structure, it also has shedding mechanism > wefting mechanism > battening mechanisnK drawingup mechanism > letoff mechanism etc. In order to lucubrate, it is often separated from the loom and becomes an absolute system, in fact, in the modern loom's research, the heavy wide loom is still a new research field now and is given broad attention to. At present, our domestic enterprises cannot suffice the continuous increase of the industrial fabric requirements, so there are two ways to settle the question, one way is to purchase overseas products, but the overseas products are too expensive; the other is to rebuild the old traditional shuttle looms in our factories.Overweight and wide breadth are the remarkable traits of the heavy wide loom. In order to finish the weaving successfully, wefting is the key, so during the course of researching the heavy wide loom, an important task is to study the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box.In this thesis, we mainly expatiate on the design of the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box of the heavy wide loom, the prototype is JURGENS loom and we subdivide the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box in the modular way. There are shuttle box, weft carrier, wefting mechanism, braking mechanism, abb joining mechanism, unreel and tension control mechanism and so on. We want to analyze the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box's structure roundly and to study their law of motion.There are ten chapters in the thesis, we analyze the structure and movement of the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box detailedly. The first chapter introduces some basic things about the task, establishes the research course and some performance guide lines, and lists the rebuilding contents and idiographic parameters. In the second chapter, with the whole structure of the heavy wide loom, the thesis briefly introduces a loom's component parts and some important weaving parameters, and we may design and analyze it in terms of them. In the third chapter, the thesis discusses the wefting principle,we may make reference to the wefting principle of the ordinary gripper shuttle loom. The fourth chapter talks about the weft carrier, in this part, we mostly introduce the big gripper shuttle in the comparative way and not only analyze the structure but also analyze the stress of the fatigable parts. In the fifth chapter, the shuttle box is our research emphasis, we start with the design principle and analyze its structure and the logic of the action of the parts. The sixth chapter discusses the shoot mechanism, builds its theory model and analyzes its law of motion from the view of kinematics and kinetics during the wefting. And then, we can consider the hydraulically shoot mechanism and comprehend its principle and some special parts. Subsequently, the content is about the flying of a shuttle, because the course of the flying of a shuttle is very complex, it is necessary to study the shuttle according to mechanics and to analyze its course of motion and its change of speed from the view of energy. Braking mechanism is followed, in this part, the course of braking and the braking force are our subject investigated. At the same time, we also discuss some familiar problems.
