With the continuous utilization and exploitation of the mineral resources, the mineral resources in the earth became less and less. But the waste produced in using the resources is threatening the environment the human beings lived and damaging their lives. So me treatment. disposal and reuse of such waste can be very necessary and important, the reuse is the most important method.Because of the technology limitation in the past, most of the tailing contained a great deal of valuable or associated mineral In recent years, the recovery of the valuable or associated mineral has been a focus. There was much research on the recovery of the valuable component from Lead and Zinc tailing, but most of the research concentrated on the recovery of the associated dear metals such as Au & Ag.The sample used in the experiment came from a Lead &Zinc mineral processing plant in Hezhang of Guizhou province. The tailing of die plant had placed in the open area for more than a decade, and the properties of the mineral had greatly changed, which made it very difficult to separate. The exploratory experiments indicated mat the "ZnS firstly collected, ZnO second" principle flowsheet was very necessary to the mineral Then the reagents used in both collections were determined: in first flotation, CuSO4 was used to activate sphalerite, then Aero Xantathate was used as collector; in second flotation, NaS was used as sulphurateor, CuSO4 as activator, Aero Xantathate and Hydroximic acid as collectors. The flowsheet ?"one roughing, four scavenging, the rough concentrateand the concentrate of the third scavenging were bom concentrated three times, the two concentrate mixed as the final concentrate" was attained through a great deal of experiments. The concentrate got from the closed circuit contained 39.68% Zn with a recovery of 73.74%. It is not only a task finished successfully, but also a lesson from which the other zinc mining can learn. In the last part of the paper, the mechanisms of the flotation were analyzedand some conclusions were drawn:(1) Because of the activating of CuSCV a layer of CuS formed on the surface of sphalerite, because of the activating of CuSO4 In flotation the xantathate reacted with Cu2+ in the layer, men the xantathate absorbed on the surface of me sphakrite, so the interaction between xantathate and the surface of sphalerite should be chemical absorption. (2) Hie hydroximic acid reacted with the Zn2+ in the surface of the zinc oxidized mineral, and the formed compound might mainly be "O,O" 5-ring complex (there might be a littk "O,N" 4-ring complex compound existed).
