| Based on K. C' Rustagi's and P N. Prasad's nonlinear optical theory some kind ofnew conjugated polyacetylenes' oPtical material were designed and synthesized. Theiroptical limiting proPerties were measured and the relationship between molecularstructure and optical properties were investigated. The main content of this workconsists of the following points.1. The history and recert development of the research on oPtical limiting materialstheir aPplication, the principle and mechanism of oPtical limiting weresystematically sununarized.2. Based on the nonlinear optical theory Six objective monomer molecules weredesigned. Their synthtic routes were selected on the basis of discussion ofvarious synhetic methods ofacetylenic comPounds.3. Thre of six objective molecules were successfully polymerized, using[An(nbd)Cl]2 as catalyst and their copolymers with C,, were prepared. Influenceof differeYt polymeric conditions, such as tdrie, solveni, catalyst, cocata1yst, onpolymerization were studied in detail. Simultaneously, we foUnd that C. p1aysdouble functions as comonomer and as cocitalyst. To imProve the solubility ofthese homopolyIners, the objective monomers were copolymerized withphenylacetylene to give so1uble polyIners.4. The optical limiting effects of all six acetylenic monomers and some polymerswere measured and it was found that they possess good limiting effects under 40ps pulse laser at the wavelength of l064 nm. Their limiting mechanism were alsoinvestigated. |
