The paper develops the system of the seam check-up that is made up of the 980nm-laser, the near-infrared CCD (charge-coupled device) and the video circuit (VIDEO-PCI-XR) etc. The soft system of the seam check-up is designed by image process and seam identifying arithmetic. Characters of seam and position warp of welding torch can be recognized through the system. The precision of the check-up system is 0.2mm and the velocity of image process is 4 frame /s, which can accord with the need of seam tracking. The fuzzy controller also is planned to realize the welding tracking.
