| Practical applications of woven fabric composite material are increasing in the area of advanced composite technology. And the behaviors of impact and CAI (compression after impact) on composites are concerned.The current impact experiments have not record the response of force and strain in impact process. Elaborate response process of impact for woven composite including impact force of impactor, strain response of different position in the specimen is observed by the special design of impactor and multichannel collection system. The compression experiment after impact is discussed in the paper. Also, the compression damage force after different impact energy and the strain response of different position are presented. It is a satisfying method for experimental research to find the strain distributing in impact and CAI, as well as the compression strength of CAI.Also, Finite element analysis is used to determine the response of the laminate from the initial load to final catastrophic failure, as well as the final collapse load. The model consists of a stress analysis and a failure analysis. The types and extent of damage in the woven composites are predicted by a failure analysis which including a set of proposed failure criteria and material degradation models. Numerical results are compared with the data in the tests, Good agreements are found. |
