In the field of textile machines in China, The rapier loom as a kind of later exploitation but fast development and presently widest application loom is a NEW LOOM. In the exploitation of the rapier loom, the design of its control system is very important. Using high intelligent control system of electronic let-off and electronic take-up is an international trend in several years. The control system of rapier loom is studied in this paper. According to the development of textile machines, a loom system controlled by several microprocessors is raised. Formed by several interfaces, this control system consists of two 8-bit microprocessors and two 32-bit microprocessors as hard core. It can control the operation of loom by four microprocessors working harmoniously. The main trait of this control system is high-speed and accurate-control.During the loom working, the supervisory system of loom is vital. The interfaces of this supervisory system have been not only designed but also completed in this paper. A method of the electronic let-off and electronic take-up system is brought forward. The new method utilizes brushless DC motors to complete electronic let-off and electronic take-up motion synchronously under 32-bit microprocessor MC68331. It can assure invariable warp tension and better synchronous loom. Compared with traditional method, this method can reduce loom mechanism and can make loom motion better synchronization and high autoimmunization. In this paper, the control system of warp tension and communication between systems are analyzed thoroughly. The interfaces of take-up motor and let-off motor coders and peripheral memory are designed. In addition, in this thesis we also resolve systematic anti-interference question successfully.
