Portable Edm Machine

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) technique has been created for 61 years. By the effort of the scholar from different countries, it develops very fast, its application is continually enlarged, and its basic theory and technical equipments are becoming perfect. It has steadily gained importance in various industrial branches especially in manufacturing.With the constant improvement of the manufacturing technology level, emerging a lot of problems need us to solve. Today, microminiature EDM equipment becomes the hot points of research. In such each field as aviation, spaceflight, microelectronics, medical science, optics and mould,etc, it is difficult that a lot of parts adopt routine machine tooling, even unable to process. Especially to the processing in the narrow space or processing of the little pore and the material processed difficultly,etc, will make the satisfactory result while adopting the processing equipment of microminiature EDM.To meet the need of the development of EDM technology, the portable EDM machine are researched in this paper. Furthermore, current source of machine is manufactured. Volt-ampere properties of current source are investigated. Feasibility of current source machining is determined. The system entered automatically and the mechanical device of the processing machine are designed. Model of manufactured product is finished by Pro/ENGINEER.
