Based on the review about the application of modified bentonite in wastewater treatment, the study of adsorption of Cr(VI) in wastewater on modified bentonite, the sorption behaviors for dualcation organobentonites to sorb phenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol, the sorption mechanisms for modified bentonites to sorb pollutants from multisolute systems and the treatment of dye wastewater by the integrative was investigated. The behaviors of adsorption of Cr(VI) in wastewater on modified bentonite were fitted to the Fleundlich Model, the thermodynamic parameters of the sorption were calculated by the equilibrium constant method, the best kinetic equation used to describe the sorption of Cr(VI) on CTMAB-Al-OH bentonite was Exponent function II Model. The test of IR and XRD demonstrated the success of modifying. The study on the sorption of 2,4-dichlorophenol by the CTMAB/XNB organobentonites demonstrated: the partition function dominated at high concentration for the sorption will no longer grow when saturated , then the linear growth partition function will dominate. In organobentonite/Cr(VI)/2, 4-dichlorophenol solute systems, Cr(VT) and 2, 4-dichlorophenol exhibited a competitive effect, the competitive effects were relevant to Cpbe/Cr(VI) and sorption mechanisms of organobentonites.Integrative method can treat dye wastewater well, it was faster and better than traditional method. After the treatment of integrative method, the removal rate of CODcr and chroma of the red dye wastewater were 89% and 100%, CODcr was 130mg/L; the blue one was 78% and 96%, CODcr was above 650mg/L. The C0Dcr of the blue one still not reached the national standard and needed further treatment. This integrative method will save considerate efforts and energy, avoid the secondary contamination of the surfactants and reduce the cost of wastewater treatment markedly.
