Now, downhole oil-gas separators has been used in high gas-oil ratio production wells, because there is a lack of fundamental research for oil-gas separation mechanism of oil-gas separator, so process and efficiency of oil-gas separation have been availably and exactly calculated, which has great influence on structure design of oil-gas separator and pumping efficiency of production wells. So an in-depth study of oil-gas separation efficiency of downhole oil-gas separators has important meaning for improving control level of oil pumping system, increasing pumping efficiency of production wells and improving structure design of oil-gas separator.This article aims at oil-gas separation mechanism and efficiency of oil-gas separator, all-sided analyze different oil-gas separation elements of separators and sensitivity of structure sizes, using basic theories of gas—liquid two-phase flow , has constructed three-dimensional flowing model, in which liquid phase is continuous phase and gas phase is dispersed phase, and has brought forward using probability model to describe dispersed state and geometry size of air bubble in flow field, which has theoretic solved quantitative compute of oil-gas separation efficiency in different working conditions. The model has been solved by using numerical difference, and it used dimension control and exponential project to set up discretization equation so that it has been solved and has well stability and astringency. This model has been programmed a analyzing and calculative software which has complete function , simple operation and strong application. And in order to understand operational characteristics of oil-gas separator, special experimental facility has been set up and used to study and achieve the operational characteristics curves which show the influence degree of various factors. Two results—the theoretic result and experimental result are relatively close which shows that the theoretic model can relatively exactly describe the course of oil-gas separation.Aimed at ensuring efficiency of oil-gas separation, by using multidisciplinary theories include mechanism design, mechanism emulation, fluid mechanics,...
