China is a big producing country of glutamate. The wastewater from glutamate production is a kind of thick organic effluent, with such feature as high acidity, high COD, high concentration NH3-N, high concentration SO42- and so on. Because of these, it is difficult to treat it. Because the basic substances in glutamate wastewater are nontoxic, directly draining is not only a waster of resource, but also causes a serious pollution to environment. Thus, it is very important to find efficient and economical method or new technology to treatment monosodium glutamate wastewater.Clean production is one environment policy popularized widely in our country recently. According to this ethic (clean production), in this work the whole production process of technology for monosodium glutamate wastewater was studied, in order to reduce its pollution to environment. So the research has guiding significance for the practical production of glutamate.1. The thesis introduced the development of glutamate industry and the source and nature of its wastewater. The treatment technology and existing problem of monosodium glutamate wastewater at home and abroad were summarized. The viewpoint that wastewater treatment should be combined with cleaner production and comprehensive utilization was also brought forward. This is a new technique development trend of treating monosodium glutamate wastewater completely.2. In the present work, the environmental pollution in glutamate production was solved by use of new technology of utilizing wastes comprehensively, With the aim of saving energy, lowing consumption and reducing pollution, the work also introduced clean production to remove the negative influence of glutamate production on human beings and ecology to meet the double aims: prevention pollution and high economic efficiency.
